“Layla is my soul mate in every realm of life.”

Layla is a thriller, love story about Layla and Leeds who meet at her sisters wedding and instantly fall in love. But there’s a twist; Leeds is in a band and Layla wants better and more for him. With a little encouragement Layla convinces Leeds to go on his own, which causes people to return from his past due to him becoming famous. When an unwanted guest comes to town and creates a problem with Leeds and Layla, Leeds decides to take Layla back to the place they fell in love. Little did they know, their lives were about to change. Does Leeds find a new friend in Willow, or is it someone he always knew and missed.

“I think about the idiots in scary movies that never run when they should, but I empathize with them now. The need to disprove the thing that’s scary is greater than the need to run from the potential harm it might bring.”

  • 1 POV but 2 different time frames

  • Ghosts

  • Bed and Breakfast

  • Thriller/ Mystery

  • Love Story/ Instalove

  • Trigger Warnings

This book was easy to read and kept me on my twos the whole time. Although I would consider this more of a mystery than a thriller, it did not have as many plot twists that I look for in a thriller. It was still captivating and had a great ending. I could not read and turn the pages fast enough to figure out what was going on, and defiantly did not see the story going as it did.

“So much has happened since then. I’ve changed as a person in more ways than one. That happens when you’re forced to take another person’s life.”
